BIS Salamis Wins Significant Two Year Contract with Fairfield Energy
BIS Salamis has been awarded a significant contract by upstream oil producer Fairfield Energy. The two year contract, which was awarded following a competitive tendering process is expected to lead to the creation of a number of additional jobs within BIS Salamis.
The contract will see BIS Salamis provide Fairfield with a full spectrum of fabric maintenance services for its Dunlin assets, including scaffolding, insulation and painting as well as fireproofers, NDT inspection technicians and industrial cleaning expertise. BIS Salamis will work closely with Amec, the duty holder for the Dunlin assets, for the duration of the contract.
BIS Salamis' managing director, Mike Main, said the company was looking forward to building upon its existing relationship with Fairfield Energy, following the completion of a significant shutdown project for the company.
He said: "Previously, BIS Salamis facilitated a planned shutdown project for Fairfield which involved the cleaning and de-sanding of seven large vessels. This project was surveyed, and scopes identified and planned over a period of six months, then executed during September/October.
"This provided the ideal opportunity for us to showcase the skilled team and range of services we have at hand to carry out large specialist projects such as these. It also enabled us to demonstrate the integrated solutions - specifically with regards to our fabric maintenance and inspection services - which we can provide our clients with.
"We are obviously delighted to have now secured this new contract with Fairfield and taking into account the scope of the work involved, our Technical Support Group (TSG) will also be involved throughout the duration of the project, providing additional expertise and authority when necessary."
