Premier Transfer System
In a Joint Venture with MSIS, BIS Salamis was able to achieve superior results by using the innovative high power Premier Transfer System (PTS) on a project to complete Non-Intrusive Vessel Desanding at the AJS, Bacton Site.
Background: A large deposit of NORM contaminated material had built up in the Glycol Condensate Separator which created a direct blockage to instrumentation lines. As a result the site had to temporarily shut-down production on that system.
Solution: As a matter of urgency, BIS Salamis was engaged by AJS to remove any obstructions through Non-Intrusive Vessel Desanding. To reduce any physical man entry into the vessel the company opted to utilise an environmentally-friendly air-flow conveyance technology to remove solids from the vessel in a fully contained system. To overcome the challenges of the project, BIS Salamis opted to use the latest in PTS technology which, with the support of MSIS, was mobilised in just one working day.
Benefits: The high power PTS carried multiple benefits over conventional methods:
- Cost: With an optimum flow rate of 2716m3/hr at 900 mbar, this technology is proven to increase productivity and downtime creating significant cost savings.
- Safety: The PTS eradicated the need for confined space entry, providing a positive impact on health and safety.
- Small Footprint: This compact, light-weight system requires minimal floor space and can be transported easily. Powered by electricity this technology also has limited demand on site resources.
Results: The skill and technical capability of the BIS Salamis and MSIS personnel, combined with the innovative high power air-flow conveyance transfer system, dramatically reduced vessel outage, securing significant cost savings for the client.
